small wall piece
about 3 inches tall
materials: epoxy clay, polymer clay, copper clay, mother-of-pearl chips, Swarovski crystals, vintage jewelry components, crinoid fossils, lapis beads, silver headpins
I love fossils and used some in this piece which made me think about how the past is always present somehow or other. These are the remains of organisms that lived millions of years, and yet now they will make some spot in your home a little more interesting.
about the series: Amor Vincit Omnia
Shortly before the start of the first millennium, the Roman poet Virgil wrote "love conquers all things; let us too surrender to Love." The phrase and the concept (inLatin and in English) caught on: a character in Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales, written in the late 1300s, wore a brooch engraved "Amor Vincit Omnia."
